Kody Greene

About the Author

I'm Kody Greene, a Canadian writer based in Alberta, where I live with my wife and two kids. I write stories that explore the eerie, the cosmic, and the deeply human—blending science fiction, horror, and dark fantasy into narratives that linger long after the last page.
I started writing at twelve, crafting fantasy tales heavily inspired by The Lord of the Rings. I continued off and on through my teens before briefly succumbing to adulthood and stepping away from the page. In 2015, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Vehicle Technician, and it wasn’t until being posted to Alberta in 2017 that I found my way back to writing. This time, with a sharpened focus: short stories steeped in sci-fi and horror, and novels that dive into the psychological depths of fear and wonder.
Since then, I’ve published work with indie presses, magazines, anthologies, and podcasts. I’m a proud member of the Writers Guild of Alberta and the Horror Writers Association. In 2025, I received a Literary Grant from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts for my space horror novel, currently in progress.
My writing draws inspiration from space horror films, books, and video games—and is driven by a passion for mental health advocacy. I believe fiction can be a powerful tool for exploring difficult truths and offering support to those who need it.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me powerlifting, hiking the Alberta wilderness, or spending time with my family.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay spooky.
